Caffeine and Our Lives

A busy Starbucks

Caffeine can be found in many foods we eat everyday; however, the most popular caffeinated item is coffee. Starbucks is a popular location for people to get their caffeine rush, so we went to the on campus location to see why and what people drink. Walking in, it was busy as usual with a long line and a small group of people waiting for their drinks.

Each person interviewed wakes up at 6 a.m., which is expected considering these questions were asked at 9 a.m. Daniela Garzon and Hannah Olsen said that caffeine helps her wake up in the morning with her preferred drink being a plain drip coffee. Daniela Garzon agrees and her preferred drink is a white mocha with no whip. However, Kuuipo Kinard does not drink coffee for support in waking up in the morning and her preferred drink is a dirty chai. There was only one person who did not like coffee and was in Starbucks for another reason. Henry Hindry goes to Starbucks to get a breakfast sandwich after waking up bright and early at 6 a.m.

With the variety of options at Starbucks to choose from, it is understandable why each of the answers we got for preferred drink were different! Aside from coffee, another caffeinated drink at Starbucks is the strawberry acai refresher. Speaking of, we ordered an iced vanilla latte: another very popular drink.

College campuses are a perfect spot for coffee locations with students ordering drinks from early in the morning to late at night. How do you like your coffee?
